Jump Jirakaweekul.Ramblings and thoughts of an eighteem year old art student and aspiring graphic designer. Obsessed with art, fashion, music, media and pop culture. Faces inspire me.
I post everything. faces, people, art. I post a lot about myself and rant occasionally. Sometimes I post my art, but my art can be found in a separate tumblr. Link below.
I'm a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. Contact here: fiftypavements@gmail.com.
I’ve never really fit in with anyone, but my time here has taught me two things; Friends should be treasured forever, and that playlists will get you through anything and everything. I have to start off by thanking my wonderful parents for allowing me to follow my dreams and aspirations. I’ve learned the hard way that friends can be lost as fast as they can be made, and to me, every single person I’ve ever been friends with have taught me something, whether it was good or bad. Even if I haven’t talked to you since the sixth grade, you will remain in my memory and I can promise that I will never forget what you’ve taught me.
“Don’t you ever let a soul in the world tell you that you can’t be exactly who you are.” - Lady Gaga
And you know what? She’s right. Lady Gaga has taught me more about myself than I ever dreamed of, and for that, I need to thank her for allowing me to accept myself. My friends really do accept me for whoever I am, purple, yellow, dinosaur, triangle, rectangle—whatever I am. So thank you for getting to know me, every single one of you.
There’s nothing better than Lady Gaga’s Born This Way to get through a long night of homework, and there’s nothing as beautiful as Noah & The Whale’s Last Night On Earth when you’re down and want to be cheered up. This chapter of my life is ending with Lana Del Rey’s Born To Die, but I am looking forward to whatever brilliant album that will be added to my already long playlist that plays the part of the score and soundtrack of my life. Just remember that no matter what happens, life goes on.
A project I’m currently working on is a sculptural installation art piece that is currently untitled, but it will probably be called “The Electric Chapel” or “The Fortune Chapel”, as it will be a small version of the Sistine Chapel, but it will be created with my art nouveau styled Lady Gaga tarot cards (Born This Way Card Project). I still need to think of a way to actually build it, but that’s a go.
Another project I’ve just thought of will be Part 2 of my Fame Kills series, this time I will expand the concept and not just create pieces of people whose deaths have been mysterious and have conspiracy theories surrounding them. The first three people, who are all musicians that I will be creating pieces of are James Dean, Kurt Cobain, and Amy Winehouse.
If you have any suggestions, go right ahead!
My friend and I dressed as Voldemort today. Went to watch Harry Potter, wore our masks when we were getting the tickets and when we got our popcorn. Also sat down at Starbucks with out masks on and just… sat there.
Ignore my weird hair.
Welcome to my desktop.
It’s really neat and I’m proud of it! Except for the random ass folder cluster at the bottom right of the screen.
“Junkyard” is where I basically drag and drop everything I’ve quickly saved to my desktop or just really random files I’m not sure where to put.
“Graphics” folder is where I keep my HQ files and PSDs for art pieces or illustrations I’ve worked on/is working on. It’s mostly Gaga and my “real” art/designs. My t-shirt designs are also in it.
“Graphics (Glee)” is where I keep quick edits of the Glee Cast or stuff I don’t put alot of effort into and I mostly just save the final images and not the PSDs.
“Lady Gaga Picture Archive” is a shortcut to a folder in another drive because it’s a really big folder - they’re all high resolution/quality/large pictures of all - if not most of Gaga’s photoshoots, candids, and performance photos. I pull it up a lot for my graphics or illustrations.
“Curt Mega Tweets” is self explanatory. Folder full of screencaps of his tweets. I read at least one everyday and read them when I feel sad or down or need inspiration/encouragement.
“Warblers” - Warblers media folder! Photoshoot, videos, edits, candids and everything are located here.
Andddd that folder on top of the Warblers folder… I’m not going to talk about it.
So yep, that’s my desktop!
My friend and I before Prom. She’s looking super sexy in that see-through dress with a corset inside! I’m looking rather sweaty.
One of my pieces that I’ve created in my IB Art HL Year 1 course. It was the second piece and sculpture I created that year, the assignment was “Found Object” - create something out of same object, and I chose hair.
“Chada Kong Phom” September/October 2010
It’s in the shape of a elaborate traditional Thai cultural dancing headpiece, called the “Chada”, it’s normally golden in a similar shape as this and has elaborate patterns. Created this piece as a commentary on how the Asian culture - specifically the Thai culture gets influenced so easily by Western culture and ideas, and it changes the traditional and cultural values in Thailand so it’s more of a hybrid of both. Used synthetic blonde hair to represent how the Western culture is changed when it’s in Asia and it’s still a Western idea even though it’s changed into something fake and synthetic. [Title is a play on the Thai language, ‘Chada’ is the name of the headpiece, ‘Kong’ means ‘My’ and ‘Phom’ means hair, but it can also mean ‘Mine/his/her’]
Inspired by Charlie Le Mindu, Philip Treacy, Nagi Noda and Alexander McQueen.
